7 Day Healthy Detox Plan

vegetables-140917_640Happy New Year everybody! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It flew by and now we are  here celebrating the end of 2014. With yet another couple of days of feasting and drinking ahead for many of us, I thought it might be a good time to share with you this great 7 day detox plan which is ideal for counter-acting all the festive excess of the past few weeks. Detoxing means getting rid of the toxins that have built up in your body and organs so that your body can once again operate effectively.  Often after detoxing you have more energy and can burn fat more effectively. It can also boost your immune system and improve your skin and hair.

Many detox plans can be quite extreme or involve eating or drinking rather unappetising concoctions. However this one, developed by dietitian Julliette Kellow, is a great plan. It's moderate and appetising and much more sensible than many others. It lasts just 7 days and it really simple to follow. It lists the foods to include in your diet for the week, and those to avoid. Then it gives you lots of ideas of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
